And here is the final result................

Payton had so much fun, and of course we had to put it out on the front porch.

Mommy and Payton and the witch pumpkin.

This is seriously something I saw and thought, 'Why didn't I think of this?" I mean it is literally big toothpicks with painted wood. It took all of five minutes to put together, and I personally think it is a pretty cute pumpkin.
On another note, Payton has started "Dora School" today. Payton has been attending a mother's day out program three times a week. They teach Spanish for twenty minutes a day. However, Derek and I wanted her to be exposed to it more. We found this small little Spanish immersion school not too far from our house. One day I left work early to check it out with my mom and Payton, and I really liked it.
Isn't this just the cutest looking school?

Here is the inside.

Now here is where I was a little surprised. I guess the word "immersion" didn't register with me. I thought they taught in both Spanish and English. Oh no, they speak nothing but Spanish. Everything is in Spanish. The books, the calendar, the toys, and even the little note they stick in your child's backpack. I was a little concerned because I didn't want Payton to feel confused. However, after speaking to the director she said they do speak English to the children to correct them or if they looked confused. Payton was a little apprehensive because we are taking her out of the school that she has been going to since August and starting a new one. I have been referring to her new school as Dora School to help in the transition. My mom said she did okay this morning on her first day. She didn't cry, but also wasn't thrilled to be there. We always explain to her that we will come back and that she will have fun. I can't wait until my mom calls at two to give me the full report.
My other concern is that Derek and I do not speak Spanish. Although, I took it in college (it was required) I only have a limited vocabulary. According to the director, the web site and some other parents I spoke with, if they stay in the school by the time they are five the kids are fluent in Spanish. The director told us not to worry about our limited (very, very little) Spanish knowledge. She suggested that we start buying DVD's for her watch in Spanish at home to reinforce what she is learning at school. However, that will not be for at least another six months.
Eso es todo por ahora. Adiós.
