Coffee, anyone?

Today as I was checking our mail, I received a small envelop with my name handwritten across the top. I could tell that is was some sort of advertisement or from a company. The handwriting looked a little too perfect. However, I went ahead and opened it and to my shock I found a Starbucks gift card.





I was a little surprised, but then I looked at the amount of the gift card.



It was for $224.56!!!!!! Seriously???





Then I read the letter attached and discovered that my credit card's partnership with Starbucks was ending; therefore, they gave me all the "rewards" I earned in the last five years. You see, I only got a credit card when I worked for a law firm in Dallas. I had to travel a lot and the firm would reimburse me for my expenses. However, I didn't want all my travel expenses to come straight from my debit card. Also, car rental companies mandated that you had a credit card. So, I bit the bullet and got a credit card. There were so many "reward" programs to select from. However, I decided on Starbucks because there was a Starbucks in our building, and I figured I would never really earn a lot of points due to the limited use I was going to actually use my credit card. Flash forward five years and I still have the credit card, but I never redeemed any of my rewards. Hence the $224.56 gift card.

Now that I no longer work close to a Starbucks, I hardly ever drink its coffee. I may go once every two months to our local Starbucks on a Saturday, but how on God's green earth am I ever going to drink $224.56 worth of coffee???

TV Makes Everything Look Fun

I love me some HGTV, especially House Hunters. It is so fun to watch and give my opinion about what house they should pick. However, real life house hunting is for the birds. At first it was fun, but after about eight houses it was no longer fun. In fact, I would say it was down right frustrating!!!


We found one house that we finally decided to make an offer. However, someone beat us by four hours. Therefore, we were back at square one looking at houses again. Now we have another offer on a house that we placed on Tuesday night. However, the seller lives in Hawaii and we haven't heard back. On top of that, did I mention we have to sale our house???? It has only been on the market for 5 days, but I am starting to get nervous. I know, I need to take a deep breath, but us purchasing a new house is contingent on selling the one we have. We have had one showing, and the only feedback we received back was that they didn't like the upstairs layout. Unfortunately, that is not something we can change.

My Future's So Bright

Payton loves her outside time and now she accessorises when she is out and about.




Such a dang cutie. Miss Payton also had her 15 month check-up today. She is 20 lbs 2 oz (9%) and 30 inches (30%). The doctor was super impressed with her vocabulary. Okay, I have to brag. She said that developmentally she was above the average 18 month old. However, she did say that meant her terrible twos would come sooner. She made that statement as Payton decided to throw one of her fits because I wouldn't let her stand in a chair. Good times!!!!!!!!!!





Payton's also been sporting a pony tail these days as well.



Speaking of futures.............. Derek and I are in the mist of major changes. Let's see .......... Derek will be starting a new job in Fort Worth on May 3rd. We are so excited and nervous. We have wanted to move over to the Fort Worth side of things for awhile. Since my Mom keeps Payton and she lives over that way, our lives would be so much easier if we were on that side of town. However, in order to move over to that area, we have to sale our house.........uuuugggggg!! We have a realtor and it is going on the market this Friday. Therefore, we have a ton of little things to do like de-clutter our home and some house repairs. We also have to find a place to live. Our realtor e-mailed me over 200 pages of home that met our criteria. Then there is always the option to build a home. So many choices and so little time.

Easter and Some Baseball Gear

We had such a wonderful Easter. Payton just loved "hunting" for eggs. She looked so big in her Easter dress and matching bow. You know how I feel about my bows. We went over to my sister's house for the big Easter hunt.




Please note that my child is barefoot. Yeah, that's right, Mommy only had one shoe. I thought I brought both, but alas, I didn't. It didn't seem to bother Payton at all. Payton got a five minute head start on the other kiddos and Cooper about had a melt down. He kept screaming, "But Pator is going to get all the eggs!!" Thanks Cooper for your vote of confidence, but I assure Payton will not take all the eggs.





She loved finding the eggs and then putting them into her purse. It was so funny because she would put an egg in it and then take it out. She wanted to hold them. The only problem was that she run out of hands to hold them. She only got about four eggs on the patio, and we kept re-hiding them. It was so cute. She would see an egg and make her Oh, oh, oh face and start running to the egg.





Then it was time for the confetti egg fight. Poor Payton was targeted by Cooper and Luke. She would just stand there while the dumped confetti on her then shake her head. Then she would point to the confetti on the ground and pick up a piece and hand it to me. Over, and over and over and over and over and over again.




Cooper also got his share of confetti. It really was a blast.

Then we went back inside for cookies. I tried to take a picture with my baby, but someone was not cooperating.





Then on that afternoon, Pops came into town because today is opening day for the Rangers. Therefore, Payton had to wear her Ranger's gear. Here she is telling me "no, no!" She gets so dramatic about it. I have no idea what I did this morning to deserve a "no, no" but she looked like she meant it.




Below is Payton's new face. She does this all the time. It is her "oh my" expression. She does this anytime she sees something new, does something she knows she is not suppose to be doing or when she is suprised.





I thought I would let you view the following pictures for a good laugh. I was in the mist of changing Payton's cloths and she found this hat that she wanted to wear. I don't know about you, but I think she pulls off ruffled bloomers with a hot pink hat wonderfully.
