Undomesticated

I have a confession to make. I don't exactly enjoy doing housework. I know shocking. In fact, we have someone come to our house twice a month to do the dirty work. Don't get me wrong, I am not a slob. I can't stand do have dishes out, and I do sweep and Shark my floors at least twice a week. However, dusting and vacuuming is something that only gets done twice a month when the lady comes to our house. Furthermore, our entire down stairs, except the master bedroom, is all wood or tile. Therefore, I don't feel all that guilty about not vacuuming. Last December, the lady mentioned that our vacuum was not suctioning as well as it should. With the arrival of Payton, I decided we needed an upgrade. I went out and purchased a new Dyson (which cost about the equivalent of a car payment). Derek put it together and we put it in the hall closet. I never used it (until last night). However, our lady said that it did excellent work and was very impressed.

Well, during the day on Wednesday, Daisy decided to destroy one of Payton's toys. It was a rattle that had all these little balls in it. I decided that I needed to vacuum the rug because of the hazard it posed to Payton. So, while Derek was playing with Payton last night, I got out the vacuum to clean up the area.

Here's the embarrassing part. I couldn't figure out how to use the darn thing. I could turn it on, but I couldn't figure out how to unlock it from the upright position. I am not kidding when I say I spend about 10 minutes trying to figure it out. When I couldn't, I moved on to plan B. Use the hose attachment, and waste another 5 minutes of my life figuring out how to detach the hose. I finally did and proceeded to clean the rug. Once I was finished, I tried to reattach the hose device. No success. By this point, I was so frustrated that I just put the whole vacuum cleaner, detached hose and all, back into the closet.

There you have it. My confession. I couldn't figure out how to use my own vacuum cleaner.

Our Baby is 6 Months Old

I can't believe that Pater is 6 months old today. She is growing like a weed and can do so many things. She has really discovered her voice, and almost has that whole crawling thing down. Although, she does get a little side tracked while trying to crawl and does the "downward dog position" from yoga. It is like she is trying to go from being on her hands and knees to walking. It is too funny. She can also sit up all by herself and loves to laugh. Her doctor's appointment is tomorrow, so I will have her official stats then.

However, we have done some first last week. I have the video and I promise I will post it sometime this week.

Looks yummy, right?

The little darling has no clue what she is in store for.

She was not impressed. She made the most horrible faces. Derek said that it couldn't be that bad from her face and proceeded to taste it. Daddy's exact quote was, "It isn't that good."

We got about three bites into her before she ripped off her bib. We took that as a sign that she was all done.

Last week was also another first. Making her introduction to her pony.

Loving riding her pony. We would put her on it and she would just jump up and down.

However, she got bucked off...

and like any true cowgirl she got back on her pony to ride her again.

Still Here

Sorry for the lag in posting, but work has been crazy and, to be honest, I just haven't had the energy to post.

Speaking of engery. Ms. Payton is full of it. She loves playing with bibs, cups, hats and any other object that is not a toy. Pretty blue eyes.

She also loves Cooper and he can entertain her for hours.

And she can entertain him as well by sticking out her tongue, giving him "kisses" and pulling his hair. Cooper gets the biggest kick out of Payton pulling on his hair when he goes in for a hug.

Cooper also wants to hold Pater all the time. Pater doesn't always cooperate with Cooper, but they sure are cute.

Awwww......look how peaceful they look. I am so blessed that Payton has a big cousin here that adores her.

What a Weekend (Picture Overload)

First of all, Payton was an awesome flyer despite our hour delay in leaving Dallas on Wednesday night. She slept almost the entire time on BOTH flights. However, since we had the hour delay we didn't get to Granny and Pop's house until 10:00 p.m. Both Payton and I were exhausted. The weather was beautiful, and Payton loved sitting outside with Pops.

And "driving" her cousin Jack's car.

Look,Payton already knows to check her mirrors.

Our traditional family photo in front of the fire place.

Pops, Daddy and Payton.

Then we were off to lunch with Mema.

Payton and her Great Gran (GG).

Then on Saturday we were off to the pool party to celebrate Addison's birthday.

The Newman Family (Casey, Shane, Addison & Jack)

Daddy and Payton checking out the baby pool. Of course Mommy forgot to pack her matching hat. However, I found this one in her bag. Trust me the hat that matched was adorable.

Daddy and Payton in the big pool. Payton is going to be our water bug. She loves swimming.

The Birthday Girl and her cupcakes. We went over to Casey's house that morning around 10:00ish and Addi-Lou was already in her bathing suit. The party didn't start until 4:00 p.m.

Friday was Addison's actual B-Day, so we had cake and she opened some presents that night.

Jackson showing off how he can body surf.

Payton say hi to Jack. Jack say hi to Payton.

Addison was so cute. She would take every card to Casey for her to read before opening presents.

Look at all the presents!!! That does not include the haul she made on Saturday at her actual party.

Cousins Wrestle Mania then got under way on Saturday evening. I bought them all "Cousins" Shirts. They had their name on them and their cousin order. Big, Little and Baby. Here is Addison modeling her shirt.

Then we put them on a blanket to try to get a picture. This is what happened.

Poor Addison was under attack from rolling babies.

Stay strong Addison. Remember you are the Big Cousin.

We had such a great weekend. I think I took over 100 photos.

Leaving On A Jet Plane

There has been so much to blog about, but so little time. Over the weekend Pater went swimming for the first time and LOVED LOVED the water. Of course I have pictures, but forgot to bring my camera to down load them.

Also, Pater is going to have another first tonight. Her first airplane ride. Mommy and Pater will be flying to Amarillo to attend some one's forth birthday party!!!! Derek is flying out Friday morning, so that means I get to be super Mommy and get Pater and myself through airport security and on the plane all by myself. I am just tired thinking about it.

I have everything packed and just have to figure out how to lose 10 pounds before the B-Day bash on Saturday. Did I mention it was a swim party?? Oh Addision, how I love you, but a swim party???? The good news is Pater has her swimming costume all packed and coordinated (swimsuit, cover, hat and shades), and she is getting so big now for any pictures of me and her together at the swim party I can use her body as a shield. Now all I have left to do is to try to get a pedicure at lunch today. At least my toes will look good.

Hopefully, I will have time on Sunday to update my blog with all the weekend activities.
