Payton has officially started her dance career. I would like to blame the bad economy for her early start. You see, when we originally looked into her taking dance last summer the director told us that she has to be three by September 1st. Well, she is a December baby so we were planning on starting her next August. However, Payton also takes kinder music at the dance studio. My mom just happened to ask again about dance, and wouldn't you know......now she only has to be 2 1/2 to start the class. My mom was a little puzzled and said that she was told that she had to be three last summer. My mom said the director got a little defensive and said the policy has always been two and a half. Both my mom and I personally feel that since the economy is in the tanker that she is desperate for students. Because let's face it........... dance classes are not cheap. The actual monthly fee is not that bad, but you have the registration fee (which always bothered me..... really $50.00 to process two sheets of paper with my information on it???) and of course they have to wear certain dance wear. Wouldn't you know that the dance wear they are required to wear can only be found at the dance studio? I am sure I could find it someplace else if I had free time to go to about 20 different locations; however, I don't have that kind of time. I don't even want to think about the recital and all the cost that will bring. Also, she is taking dance at a studio in Southlake, so I am pretty sure this recital is more like a major production with at least two costume changes (ballet & tap) plus some accessories. That being said............Payton is officially enrolled in dance wearing the dance gear purchased from the dance studio and a dance bag. Don't ask about the dance bag, my mom thought it was a necessity to hold all her dance gear.

I think she looks pretty darn cute.
And below is her warming up before dance class.

AHHHH!!! Love it!!!!! And don't question your mother. The dance bag IS necessary. :) I still have mine...in my closet, with all my shoes. True story.
But a Southlake studio? Yeah, you're going to be dance recital poor by the time she's five. Just don't think about it. :)
Look at those tiny tapping legs! Too cute.
