Tired Head

I am too tired/ sick to think of a cute title to this post.  I am starting to get sick.......yuck.  I can't blame this on Payton because she is fit as a fiddle.  Therefore, I blame my husband who has been really sick all of last week.  Wouldn't you know that he is starting to feel better and I am starting to feel like death.  My throat is killing me and my ears feel like they want to explode from all the pressure.

Since, I am lacking any energy to actually blog, I'll just post some cute pictures of Payton.

Payton loves to play dress-up.  This is her recital costume from last year. Minus the wings.  Those are from her Halloween costume from last year.

She also loves Kincaid's.  So much so, that I often have to tell her that it is closed.  Momma can only handle so much Kincaid's before she needs something else.

Now I am off to feel sorry for myself for having to work and not being snuggled up in my bed sleeping all day.

Picture Day

Yesterday was picture day at Payton's school.  It was also free dress day.  Payton loves free dress day.  Payton was dressed to the tee.

Grandpat assured me that she actually wore the headband properly for the pictures and to school.  However, when she got home this is how she wanted to roll.

Also notice the streamers in her hand.  This kid has been obsessed with throwing parties lately.  We had to have a party on Sunday with streamers and cupcakes.  However, on Tuesday before Grandpat fell ill, they had to stop by the Dollar General for more party supplies.  When I picked Payton up yesterday, I arrived just in time for the party.

Don't ask me what we were celebrating.  However, it appears that it was a princess themed party.

Why I Love Tuesdays!

I know that Tuesdays don't really get a lot of attention in the work week.  It is not like Monday, which everyone hates.  It is not like Wednesday and considered hump day because you are heading into the final days of the work week.  Generally, everyone loves Thursdays and Fridays because of their proximity to the official weekend.   Therefore, Tuesdays are just kind of blah....

I love Tuesdays for one reason and one reason only.  It is the day the cleaning lady comes to my house.  There is nothing quite as wonderful as coming home from work and knowing that I am going to walk into a clean house.  It is downright joyful.

However, last night my joy was short lived.  I had to go to a city council meeting last night and didn't get home until around 8:30.  Derek was in charge of Payton while I was away and this is what I found when I came home.

This would be Payton's playroom.  (Yes, I am aware of how much pink stuff we own).  This would be the exact conversation I had upon arriving home and going upstairs where Derek and Payton were feeding their babies.

Me:  So, did Ms. (cleaning lady) come today?  As I am looking around at the total destruction of the playroom.

D:  Yes, yes she did.  With a grin on his face.

He then proceeded to get up give me a wink and said, "Am out, " as he walked into the media room and shut the door.

I really can't complain if this is all the damage that was done during my time away.  I mean Payton was bathed (jammies not matching & wet towel and dirty clothes on the bathroom floor), fed (plate with her left over meal neatly placed NEXT to the sink), and happy (because Daddy let her bring down every toy in the world and played babies, school, and who knows what with her for two hours).

In all seriousness, it looks like they had a blast and I can't complain one bit about that.

This also kind of (not really) tames my urge to build another house.  I  promise this would be our last house.  Yes, I know we just built this one, but we want more of a one story with a little more land.  We are just dreaming about it, and I may or may not be looking into the matter.  However, back to my point, that this tames that urge because in order for us to build a new house we would have to sell our house.  That means our house has to be "show ready" at all times.  I do not have the energy to commit to that.  I remember that was the one (okay there were a lot more) of the major things I hated about putting our house on the market.

Lastly, yesterday was a strange day in general.  Over the weekend my Dad came down with a 24 hour stomach bug.  Yesterday my Mom called around 1:45 asking if I could come home early.  I said I could, but I would have to leave at 5:30 to attend a meeting.  Therefore, Derek came right from work and took over so I could make it my meeting.  While I was home with Payton in the afternoon, she was outside playing in her fort and she got stung by a wasp right on her finger.  She was sticking her hand in her fort mailbox and it got her.  This is the first time she has ever been stung.  She is not allergic;  however, it did swell up a bit and made her entire hand red.  Poor baby kept saying it really hurts.

Also, my Mom is feeling better and it appears to be a true 24 hour bug.  I am just crossing my fingers that it stays far away from our house.

Sleeping Beauty

This is the picture Grandpat sent me this morning after I dropped Payton off at 7:00 this morning.

It was 8:40 and the kid was still passed out.  Her school starts at 9:00.  I have a feeling they may be a little late.  I am not looking forward to when she starts "real" school and she has to be there by a certain time during the week.  I think both her and I are going to be in for a rude awakening.

We also signed Payton up for yet another activity.  However, this one does not start until the Fall.  She is officially going to be back in soccer.  Granpat was relieved because this is a Saturday activity and she is off the clock as far as watching Payton.  Derek is also considering to volunteer to be an Assistant Coach.  Payton has mixed feelings about this.

Both Payton and Cooper are also signed up for three weeks of swim classes this summer before we head out to Hawaii.  Speaking of Hawaii, Grandpat has already started planning/ buying/ and packing (yes, packing and the trip is three months away) for the big vacation.

Here are some of her purchases thus far.............

A hooded beach towel for each of the kids.

A blue beach bag for me and yellow one for my sister.  Of course, Grandpat had to get the matching flip flops.

I am also a little freaked out about what is going on in North Korea right now.  Don't get me wrong, I am all against the whole North Korea and the treatment of its people, not mention I really don't want a war.  However, I really wish everyone would simmer down or we take some serious actions against them way before our trip.  Because based on my googling and all the news on the net it appears that North Korea has mentioned Hawaii a couple of times.  I think it would be my dumb luck to finally go to Hawaii and war breaks out with a crazy fat man that may have weapons that could possibly hit Hawaii.

Easter 2013

There is so much to blog about that I don't really know where to start.  I guess I'll take it from the top.  We left out for Hereford at around 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The only hiccup in our travels to West Texas was Derek's mysterious eye injury.  Apparently, sometime in the middle of the night on Wednesday, Derek scratched/ hit his left eye in his sleep.  It was so bad that he was tearing up and claimed to be going blind in that eye.  After googling the symptoms,  I determined that he somehow scratch his cornea and that it would heal within 24 to 48 hours.  Of course I offered to drive, but he refused until after we ate in lunch in Wichita Falls.  You know his eye really must have been bothering him if he wanted me to drive.

Once we arrived in Hereford, we checked into the hotel and met up with Mema.  Payton loved the cows and bulls they had everywhere.

On Friday, Mema took Payton to the park and Derek hit the gym.  The only gym in Hereford had a seven day free trial period.  Therefore, he signed up for his free trial, and I went back to the hotel to work.  First I had to take my car through the car wash because I think we took out a great big chunk of the bug population  with the windshield.

Also on Friday evening Mema had to jump into the hotel pool to save Payton.  Derek and I were in the pool with Payton.  I put Payton up on the side of the pool in front of where Mema and Keith were sitting.  I told Payton to sit there because Daddy and Mommy were going to have a race.  Well, Derek said go and I was in the middle of the pool before I heard Mema say she is in the pool.  I immediately turned around to go get her.  I guess Mema didn't think I was going to make it in time so she jumped in and rescued her.  Mema was fully dressed and just had her hair washed and straighten at the salon.  Oops!!  You think my kid would have been a little scared seeing Mema jump in and pull her above water.   However, that was not the case.  The first words that little stinker said was wanting to know who won the race.  We had a very long talk afterwards about pool safety.

On Saturday we were off to Amarillo for the second half of the Easter activities.  All I can say is that it was a blast.  Payton loved hanging out with Addison and Jackson.

They dyed eggs and made basket cupcakes.

Jackson is all boy, and I love it.  You see those two eggs in his hand.  He started smacking them together to see if they would make noise.  Then he said, "Oh, no they broke."  Then he tried to do it again.

Then it was off to the Easter egg hunt.

Jackson was so funny.  He thought the plastic eggs were the confetti eggs.  So he would pick them up and then whack the ground or Addison and Payton with them.   We very quickly explained to him that the confetti eggs would come later.  I didn't get any pictures of the confetti egg fight because I had to defend myself, but it was so much fun.  Also, if you don't get all the pieces of confetti off your body then you may discover that you have dyed yourself in multicolored specks when you take a shower the next day.  Just saying.

On Sunday the Easter Bunny came and we had breakfast with the whole family before we headed back home.  We stopped in Vernon to take our potty break and let Payton "drive" in the parking lot of Tractor Supply.

Payton was really awesome on the trip.  I did learn that the iPad has about a six hour battery life when being played with nonstop.

Overall we had a great Easter Holiday.
