Go Potty Training !!

I think Payton has been in soccer tots a little too long now. This is because we are officially potty training. She is so happy about her big girl underwear and doing the happy dance every time she goes on the potty. She often says, "Go Potty Training!!" and then wants to give me a high five. When we came back from Disney we decided that there would be no more diapers. We talked to Payton a lot about this. However, she is in school two days a week so we have been putting her in pull-ups. However, when she is at home she is in her big girl underwear. Yesterday was her first full day without diapers. My mom said it didn't go well. There were a number of accidents and she did not once go on the potty. Then I came home from work, and guess what??????? She went on the potty three times (and once on the carpet). I will take responsibility for that one. She came running in as I was washing my hair and said she needed to tee-tee. I told her to go get Grandpat. She run and got Grandpat, but before she could make it back she tee-teed on the floor of my parent's master bedroom.

She is still sleeping in a regular diaper and will wear pull-ups to school and when we are out, but I think last night she really started to get the concept. Fingers crossed that we will be diaper and pull-up free by the end of the summer.

Also, when we went to Disney my mom said that could get a toy a day. Needless to say, they got more than one toy a day. However, it was monkey see monkey do. Cooper got a hat the Indiana Jones shop.......... so of course Payton wanted a hat. This is the one she picked out.

It even lights up.....................

And of course, you can't leave Disney without the ears.

Flyin' Payton

Payton loves to be tossed up in the air by Daddy. She has discovered that Mommy can't toss as high as Daddy; therefore, Daddy is her prime thrower.

Ready..............

Weee..................

And the catch.

Every time they play this game my heart stops. I know that Derek will catch her, but Payton sometimes decides to do "tricks" while she is catching some air. I also have a fear that she will collide with the fan.

Back From Disney........

Yesterday afternoon we arrived back from Disney. We were there for seven whole days. Let me repeat............ SEVEN DAYS!!!! I love Disney as much as the next person, and seven days really is a good amount of time to see all the parks and hang out at the pool. However, seven days is a long time to be in the hot, humid climate of Florida with a two year old. Payton loved it and so did Cooper. I enjoyed it because Payton loved it so much. It was just so HOT, and it rained two days while we were there. Nothing major, but enough to make you want to go sit in a long, hot bath for about an hour to get all the rain, sweat and stickiness off of you.

I have tons of picture that I need to download. However, right now it hurts to move, much less type. After either holding Payton, pushing a double stroller and hauling luggage, I am so sore that I can hardly move. However, do not fear......... pictures will be forth coming.

Long Weekend

Last weekend, my mom, Payton and I traveled to Amarillo to attend my niece's 6th birthday party. We left Friday afternoon when I got home from work and didn't arrive in Amarillo until 11:00 p.m. Payton was a trooper and only got grumpy the last hour of the drive because she was so tired. Of course she didn't fall asleep until we hit the Amarillo city limit sign. Therefore, she was asleep a whole 20 minutes before we arrived at Granny and Pop's house. She immediately woke up and was ready to play again.

On Saturday we went to Jump-N-Jive for Addison's party. Payton played her little heart out and couldn't wait for them to cut the cake. She also wanted to know where her presents were. I kept explaining that it was Addison's birthday. However, her little two year logic couldn't understand why she wasn't getting any toys. After the party, Payton was so tired that my mom and I drove around Amarillo hoping she would fall asleep for a nap. It was a no go. We then met up for dinner with Derek's family and sister and the kids played in the sandbox at the restaurant. Payton was covered in sand. We were leaving straight from the restaurant to head to Wichita Falls for the night. My mom and I had to give Payton a "bath" in the sink of the restaurant to get all the sand off of her. We left Amarillo at 6:30 p.m. and Payton was out by the time we "officially" passed the Amarillo city limit sign. She slept for a little over two hours before she was wide awake. We still had about 2 hours before we were going to be at the hotel. Those two hours were the longest two hours of the trip. Of course, Payton fell back asleep about 20 minutes before we arrived at the hotel at 11:00 p.m.

Payton loved the hotel. We gave her a real bath that night since she was up. She was so relaxed in the bath. The next morning Payton thought she was hot stuff because she ate her muffin by the pool at the hotel. We also requested a wake-up call at 8:00 a.m.; however, they never called. We finally woke up at 8:40. I guess every one was pooped from the trip.

We finally arrived back at my parents' house at 11:30 a.m. where we spent the rest of the day in the pool. It was a great weekend, and I am so glad Payton got to be there for Addison's birthday. I would post some pictures, but I was so busy chasing Payton around at the party that I didn't remember to take one picture. I know that Granny took a ton of pictures so as soon as she e-mails me some, I'll be sure to post them.

Mornings with Payton

Payton loves to sing and tell stories. This is a video my mom sent me this morning.

Enjoy!
