This weekend was an extremely busy one. Our church volunteered to pass out water for the Run the Rails 5k this weekend. Derek also decided to actually run in the race. He had to be there at 7:20 in the morning and Payton and I joined him there right when the race started at 8:00 a.m. Our job was to pass out water to the runners as they finished the race. Payton thought this was super fun.
First of all, I will brag on Derek. He finished third in his division. I would have passed out at about the mile mark because it was so humid. Also, maybe because I am out of shape. Here he is with his metal.
Yes, I know my sunglasses are hideous. I am awful with sunglasses and this was a cheap pair I found in my car. I had no idea how awful they were until I saw this picture. However, I am super proud of him for doing such a great job.
My mom met us up there and took Payton to birthday party that started at ten. I met them after I stayed to help clean up after the race.
Next, we met my sister and Cooper at North Park. The kids played on the planter there for what seemed liked forever.
Needless to say, after a long day at the race, birthday party, and playing with Cooper, this is what she looked liked on the drive back home.
Girlfriend was passed out cold.
On Sunday we went to church and then Derek had to work. Payton and I went to Kroger's where Payton insisted she wanted a slip-n-slide. I thought, why not. It was reasonably priced. So we get back home and I blow up the pool part of the pool.
Next, I went to hook our water hose up to the slip-n-slide. One small problem. I could not get the sprinkler sprayer off of the hose. In all fairness neither could Derek when he came home. Therefore, I could not hook-up the water hose to the slip-n-slide. So I just sprayed her with the hose instead. She seemed pleased.
This only confirms that we really need a pool.

Everytime we see kids playing on the planter at North Park we always comment on how it's probably a lawsuit waiting to happen!
On another note, what kind of booster do you have for Payton? I've started looking into one for M.
