Waiting for Daddy, and telling me that she is going to get four pieces of candy. This is our first Halloween in our new neighborhood and it rocked. Around 6:30 all the neighbors sat out on their front porch with their big bowls of candy. It seemed liked all the kids in our neighborhood were pretty much six and under. Also, everyone took their dogs with them. It was literally like a big street party with kids running on the sidewalks and parents and dogs all talking in the street.
Payton was a fairy princess, or a butterfly. Her answer would change depending on who was asking her. I purchased this costume last summer when we were at Disney. She loved her wings. If you can't tell they light up.
I promise she was happy. I don't know why she is making this face. It may have something to do with my parents showing up and everyone taking about 100 pictures.Mema purchased Daisy her Halloween costume when she was here in September. Daisy was such a trooper and kept the costume on. She was also so nice to the million little kiddos that would come up to her and start "petting" her.

Doesn't Daisy just look too cute in her pumpkin costume?
So the whole family (Daddy, Daisy, Payton and I) headed off to go trick or treating. The plan was that I would go with them with Daisy along one side of our street, and then I would take Daisy back home and pass out candy on the front porch.
All went well. I told Derek that when they come back to go to the houses across our street so I could see Payton hit up those houses for candy. About ten minutes later Payton and Derek are coming down our side of the street. At first I thought what in the hell is he doing??? I told him to come back to our house on the other side of the street so I could see Payton trick or treating.
Turns out Payton had declared that she was done. She informed Derek, after about seven houses, that she was done trick or treating. What?? Did she not understand that she could make a haul on free CANDY????????
I thought surely Derek was joking, but no. Sure enough, I asked Payton if she wanted to go across the street with Mommy for trick or treating, and she said, "No, I am good. I am finished trick or treating."
The whole family then just stayed on the front porch and passed out candy. I think Payton enjoyed passing out candy to other kids more than trick or treating. It was a perfect Halloween. The weather was wonderful, and I loved our neighborhood and how everyone was so friendly and involved in the whole trick or treating adventure.

Payton enjoying her loot.

Payton waiting for more kids to come.
On a side note. Here's a few observations from Halloween:
1) Do not, I don't care how old you are, just put your hand in my bowl of candy (that I am holding) and grab as much candy as you can.
-Seriously? Do you have any manners?
2) It is free candy. Technically, I could pass out candy corn and licorice if I want. Therefore, please leave your comments about the candy I am passing out to yourself. I am sorry there is only one packet of M&M's left or that you don't like Sour Patch Kids.
3) I feel like you must at least wear a costume if you want candy. I am sorry, but jeans and a t-shirt that you wore to school does not make your a "skater." It means you are lazy and probably too old to be trick or treating.
4) Also, if your have cleavage and your costume shows it off or you shave your face then you are too old to be trick or treating. Additionally, you are the ones that violated all the above.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween.
Also, Happy Birthday Derek!!! Payton can't wait for tonight when we sing Happy Birthday and you blow out the candles on your cake.
