This Saturday, I completed most of my Christmas shopping. I still have my parents and sister to knock off the list, but after that I am DONE. I was on cloud nine on Saturday knowing that the Christmas shopping was almost complete. That was until Sunday rolled around. After the Cowboys game, Derek asked me if I would like any boots. I said sure, why not. That is when he informed me that because of where he works he gets discounts at other stores. I will give you a break down of the conversation:
D: I am going to get some new boots. Do you want any?
S: Sure. Why are you going now?
D: Well, today is the last day to get 50% off of all Justin boots.
S: Is it a sale?
D: No, because of where I work we get 50% off of all Justin boots. But I have to do it today.
S: What? I am thinking I could have purchased some Christmas presents for my brothers-in-law.
D: Yeah, there are like a ton of other stores where I get huge discounts during certain times.
S: Um, what? What are they? Do you have the list? Seriously, like how big of discounts?
D: I don't know. I'll have to print off the list, but it usually at least 50% off.
S: Please do.
Then he left to go to the store and I goolged to see where all he gets discounts. It is like a ton of different stores that I shop at. Could he not have told me about this like when he first started working there back in February or I don't know BEFORE I completed my Christmas shopping?
Seriously, I could have purchased everyone's Christmas presents at 50% off.
SO.......... Back to the boots. I have to warn you, I am not a country girl. I don't own cowboy boots. I had a pair of Ropers in high school, and I blame peer pressure for that one. However, I went to the Justin web site and they had some fun boots. Derek went on his own because it was so last minute and Payton was napping. Derek called me at least 20 times, and finally I just told him to use his best professional judgment. This is what he came home with.

Not too bad. I actually really like them. I think they will be fun to wear with jeans and a brown sweater.
And of course, he got some for Payton.

Apparently, there wasn't a great selection in her size, but Payton loved them. Payton also made all of us put on our new boots and have a dance party.

Here's the trio of new boots. Derek did a great job. Also, he got all these boots for less than $190.00 because of the discount. I've already e-mailed him this morning to remind him to print me off the list off all the deals he gets. I can't believe he held out on me for so long.
