The "Romance Package"........... sounds fun, right? Well, with Mother's Day approaching, I emailed Derek what I thought would be a nice gift from Payton. I emailed him a web site for some jewelry that I wanted. Nothing too expensive, just a charm to go on my charm bracelet. Well........... Derek totally surprised me and booked the "Romance Package" at The Cliffs in Possum Kingdom for Saturday night. My parents watched Payton for us, and we headed off on our Saturday night getaway.

Our room. It was so nice. I have to laugh because the name of the package, as you can tell, was the Romance Package so everywhere we went the staff would say, "Oh, you booked the Romance Package" with a big grin of their face. I wanted to say, you were the ones that named it that, not us.
Here's the view from our room. Derek brought his mountain bike and hit the trails and I went and got a facial and a massage. It was Heaven....
I tried to get a picture of Derek and I together on the balcony, but it is hard when Derek is 6'4" and I am 5'2".

All I can say is THANK YOU DEREK for the wonderful getaway. It was by far the best Mother's Day gift. Also, it was the first night I stayed away from Payton. It was hard and I cried as we drove away from my Mom's house, but I have to admit it was nice to have some time to myself with my wonderful husband.

What a wonderful surprise! What a good hubby! I know it was hard for you to leave Payton. We are very much the same that way. Madison didn't spend the night away from us until she was 2 years old and I cried. The babies have yet to spend the night away. Probably will happen when our 10 year anniversary comes this November. I'm gonna be a mess. I'm so glad you guys had a good time!
