Everyone's Baby is Gifted

As parents we tend to "brag" about our child's accomplishments and downplay other things. For example, you may hear a mother state that her child was walking at three months and read War and Peace at the tender age of one. What parents fail to mention is that this same child also loves to bang his/her head on walls and eats from the dog bowl on occasion. That's why when I hear or read other children's accomplishments I always take it with a grain of salt because who knows if they are being completely honest.

That being said, I would like to take this opportunity to brag on my child and endorse a product. Payton is a "Dallas Baby," meaning that unfortunately she has to spend part of her morning and the afternoon commuting with Mommy. As she has gotten older, the DVD player in the car is a must. It keeps her entertained and helps Mommy keep her sanity. Therefore, I try to select "educational" videos for her to watch. We have all the Baby Einsteins (and no, I don't think Baby Einstein will turn my kid into a genius) and this video, which I love.

Payton loves this video. We have had it in the rotation now for about three days, and (here's the part were I brag) she is already sounding out most of the letters when they come up on the screen. Her favorite letters are F, B, S, T, M, N, C, & D. Cooper watched this video when he was little and (again bragging) by the time he was two he knew all his letters and could sound out a lot of words when he saw them. Therefore, if you have a little one and need a "video" to play at times to occupy their minds while you get stuff done then I highly recommend this video.

And, for the record, Payton has not eaten out of Daisy's bowl, but she has come close.
