The verdict is in. The doctor said that Pater had a viral fever that will last for four to five days. She did blood work on my baby and everything came back normal i.e. no virus. She still thinks it is just a viral fever and don't be alarmed if her fever goes up to 108. Hello!!!! If her temperature goes past 103 we are going to the hospital. However, she is hoovering around the 101 mark. The doctor just said to keep her hydrated, check her temperature and giver her Tylenol.
My personal opinion is that she has a fever because she is about to get a lot of teeth. Her whole entire mouth is swollen and she is drooling so much that she is actually spitting out the excess drool. However, there is split authority on whether teething causes a fever. She always had a fever and ear infection in the past right before a tooth would make its appearance so I don't know what to think. All I know is Pater is crabby with a capital C. She is taking in a lot of liquids, but she doesn't really want to eat. She is also incredibly attached to her Momma right now. Don't get me wrong, I love her, but all this closeness is wearing thin. She will play with Daddy, but then out of no where she will scream and start to whine for me. I hope she is over this and feels better before we leave on our vacation. I know it is going to be rough on my mom having Pater Pooh 24/7 next week anyway, but a crabby baby on top of that and I start to feel so sorry for my mom. Fingers crossed that she kicks this fever and crabbiness before we leave.
