Sickness

My good friend Ashley did her recap of 2009 and one of her post was about the sickness that infected her house in 2009. Ashley went on to say that she wished the sickness away. Well, Ash........ I think you wished the sickness away up 35 to our house. Seriously, 2010 is not shaping up good. I already mentioned the stomach virus that attacked our household, but last night Payton started burning up with a fever. It was 102.6 and I freaked out. I gave her Motrin and sponged her down. Her fever went down within 10 minutes and she slept okay for the rest of the night. Her fever was back this morning so off to the doctor she went.

Her ears looked "horrible." That was the doctor's exact word, "horrible." They are doing blood work on her to see if it is viral or a bacteria. They gave her medicine for her ear infection and tamiflu just in case, which is weird to me because she tested negative for the flu. Her blood work won't be back until this afternoon, and we will know more then. If it is a bacteria then she has to come back for a chest x-ray ASAP. The doctor actually hopes that it is viral. Regardless, she has to go back on Thursday for a recheck.

Seriously, there is nothing worse than your child being sick. It is a pain that I cannot describe. I want to take the pain away from her, but I can't. So, I just hold her and be there for her. It is the only thing I can do, but I still feel so helpless.
