Technically, I didn't get a Spring Break. I did take Friday off because my Mom decided she needed a little vacation with my Dad. However, Payton was off from "school" this entire week. My Mom and Payton just ran some errands and also met my Sister at North Park for some serious shopping one day. The had a fancy lunch at Neiman Marcus. Payton loves the "tea." I personally just think it is warm chicken broth, but Payton loves it.
She also demanded that my Mom curled her hair for the fancy day of shopping.
My Mom said she was such a trooper. She endured the eight hour shopping trip without throwing a single fit or misbehaving at all.
On Friday, we enjoyed our day together and got our toes done.
Then on Saturday Payton wanted to ride her bike without her training wheels. Derek took them off and we went outside for her to give it a try. She doesn't really get the concept of riding it, yet. But she was super excited just to try. Can you tell how excited she was?
This is what Derek and I took turns doing over and over again this weekend.
This is one of the first times in a long time that I remember feeling old because of having a kid. My back was in so much pain from bending down and running along side of her while she was trying to get the hang of it. Eventually, Derek and I had to stop and tell her that we would try again on Sunday. Wouldn't you know, that little stinker remembered what we said. Therefore, we had to do it again on Sunday.
We also did a lot of outdoor activities this weekend. We finger painted, played with sidewalk chalk, and ate our lunches outside on the back patio. It was a wonderful weekend to be outside.
