Now We Are Rollin'

It appears that the building Gods have looked down on our family and blessed us. The last time I blogged about our new home, we were under the impression it was going to be several more weeks for the permits to arrive to start the construction of our home. Well, they came in last week and they poured our foundation on Monday. We have been told that it will take 90-120 days to complete from the permit date. That means we may be able to move in by August 1st. However, I know what the building Gods give they can also take away. So fingers crossed that everything keeps on moving forward.

Here's our new home. Or at least the outside framing for them to pour slab.

Getting ready to pour the foundation.

The back view.

You may wonder if I drive by our new home everyday and take a picture. The answer would be no. My Mom does. She has gone by everyday and asked them what they are doing. For the record, I don't think a lot of the builders speak English. However, because my Mom stops by every single day, and sometime twice a day, I am sure that my Mom and the builders will become friends. Or they may issue a restraining order.

Regardless, Derek and I feel like we are finally moving forward on the new house. The big move is the weekend, and we will officially be moved out of our first home.

It's really good that your mom is stopping by so much. I firmly believe they do a better job if they know they are being watched more closely. Just my opinion though! When we were building, Bryan's dad stopped by regularly to check the scene. :)

I keep forgetting to ask, where are you building and who's the builder?

We are building in Harmon Ranch. It is off of Heritage Trace in North Fort Worth. Our builder is First Texas Homes. We really fell in love with the location. Easy access to work, good schools (Northwest ISD) and close enough to my parents so my Mom can just come to our house in the mornings to watch Payton.

Well, that sounds just about perfect!
