Let's see........ since my last post a lot of things have happened. I guess I will just start at the beginning. It all started at the first of the year when Payton had a double ear infection. I blogged about our struggles with the medication. Payton did in fact have to have a shot because we could not get it down her. Turns out, she had an adverse reaction to the shot. However, before her recheck on Monday (about two weeks ago) on Friday she spiked a 105.9 fever. Therefore, we were off to the ER were the doctor said her ears were clear and said it was a virus. We went into our our doctor the following Monday for a recheck of her ears and to follow-up with our doctor regarding the weekend high fever. Turns out she still had a double ear infection and both her tubes in her ears have fallen out and were just laying in her ear canal. Therefore, our doctor recommended we visit the ENT ASAP to see about getting the tubes back in her ears. We made the appointment for the that Thursday and by Friday Payton had surgery to put her tubes back in and to take out her adenoids. Apparently, if your child requires tubes again then they also recommend taking out the adenoids because it helps the tubes lay better. I was a little worried about the adenoid procedure because they actually have to put her under with an IV and breathing tube. Thankfully, everything turned out okay and by Sunday she was up and running. However, we still have to give her ear drops for a week, and I will just tell you how fun that is. Payton tells me, "No ear drops. I am not going to take my ear drops. I don't like my ear drops." It is good times.
This is a picture of Payton on Friday afternoon when she wasn't feeling well. She had a fever since Thursday, but it never really got above 101 until after she woke up from her nap. I knew she wasn't feeling well when I put her on the sofa to watch Nemo and I looked over and this is what I saw.

Here's Ms. Payton before her surgery. They hadn't given her the sedative yet and she was having fun because Mommy, Daddy, Grandpat and Molly (her doll) were all there to play with her. We kept telling her that Molly was having surgery and Payton was just there to make sure Molly was okay. I think she stopped believing us when we had to hold her down so they could do the nose spray. Again, and I know this is awful, but she was a hoot all drugged up. She kept laughing and burst out singing happy birthday to Molly. Then she would stop and look at me and just laugh.

Payton is doing a 100% better and life is good.

So glad she's better and hopefully it will be smooth sailing here on out! I love that her doll's name is Molly. :)
I thought you would like that name. Payton is into wanting to name everything. We also have a Sally.
