Keep in mind that Payton has this.... how can I describe it...... long section of hair that goes right down her scalp. It is similar to a mohawk haircut. You know, long in the middle and short on the sides. Therefore, we usually gather up the long hair and make a curl. Then we hold the curl with a small bow. BTW, the days of the big bows are over (for now). Payton doesn't like anything on her head and will pull anything off her head in two seconds.

Well, I guess the bow came out for the nap; therefore, leaving the long section sticking straight up. Look at that grin. I am telling you, Derek and I are in for the long haul with this one. She is such a cutie and a little devil at times. However, with a face like that how can you not fall in love?

"Me? A little devil at times? Mom, you must be kidding."
This is a picture of how we usually "fix" her hair in the mornings.

Also, this past weekend Derek and I went to a wedding in Georgetown sans Payton. We were only gone for one night, and I have to admit that it was good to have a Payton free night out with good friends. Derek and I got all dressed up, and I even did "smokey eyes" with my make-up. I haven't done "smokey eyes" since Payton was born. Let's be honest, "smokey eyes" requires a steady hand with liquid eye-liner and at least five minutes on each eye for a total of ten minutes and the right occasion. Since Payton has been born, I have a total of fifteen minutes to get showered and dressed in the mornings. Therefore, I can't waste a valuable ten minutes to do eye make-up.
I brought my camera and was determined to take pictures of Derek and I all dressed up; however, we were so caught up in the wedding and visiting with friends that I completely forgot. Oh well, maybe next time.
