The Fourth of July... Haslet Style

We spent the fourth of July at my parents' house in the big city of Haslet, Texas. However, the morning started off a little rough for Pater. The night before she was really congested, and we were leaving for our cruise bright and early the next morning. So...... out of caution, we made a trip to Cooke's Children Hospital (the only ER open with a pediatrician) at 6:00 a.m. on a National Holiday.

She looks so tired. Her diagnosis was a cold, but per Cooke's protocol she had to wear the gown. The good news was that both her ears were clear and she was clear to travel.

Our happy (but extremely hot) family photo. Pater loved the parade, but she wasn't that fond of the fire trucks blowing its horns over and over again.

Then the Haslet parade started. The parade consisted of mainly old cars, and Cooper got to ride in one.

Cooper is in the yellow shirt. We tried everything to get him to wear red, white or blue, but NO GO.

After the parade, it was bar-be-cue and swimming. It was a great forth of July.
