I know that Tuesdays don't really get a lot of attention in the work week. It is not like Monday, which everyone hates. It is not like Wednesday and considered hump day because you are heading into the final days of the work week. Generally, everyone loves Thursdays and Fridays because of their proximity to the official weekend. Therefore, Tuesdays are just kind of blah....
I love Tuesdays for one reason and one reason only. It is the day the cleaning lady comes to my house. There is nothing quite as wonderful as coming home from work and knowing that I am going to walk into a clean house. It is downright joyful.
However, last night my joy was short lived. I had to go to a city council meeting last night and didn't get home until around 8:30. Derek was in charge of Payton while I was away and this is what I found when I came home.
This would be Payton's playroom. (Yes, I am aware of how much pink stuff we own). This would be the exact conversation I had upon arriving home and going upstairs where Derek and Payton were feeding their babies.
Me: So, did Ms. (cleaning lady) come today? As I am looking around at the total destruction of the playroom.
D: Yes, yes she did. With a grin on his face.
He then proceeded to get up give me a wink and said, "Am out, " as he walked into the media room and shut the door.
I really can't complain if this is all the damage that was done during my time away. I mean Payton was bathed (jammies not matching & wet towel and dirty clothes on the bathroom floor), fed (plate with her left over meal neatly placed NEXT to the sink), and happy (because Daddy let her bring down every toy in the world and played babies, school, and who knows what with her for two hours).
In all seriousness, it looks like they had a blast and I can't complain one bit about that.
This also kind of (not really) tames my urge to build another house. I promise this would be our last house. Yes, I know we just built this one, but we want more of a one story with a little more land. We are just dreaming about it, and I may or may not be looking into the matter. However, back to my point, that this tames that urge because in order for us to build a new house we would have to sell our house. That means our house has to be "show ready" at all times. I do not have the energy to commit to that. I remember that was the one (okay there were a lot more) of the major things I hated about putting our house on the market.
Lastly, yesterday was a strange day in general. Over the weekend my Dad came down with a 24 hour stomach bug. Yesterday my Mom called around 1:45 asking if I could come home early. I said I could, but I would have to leave at 5:30 to attend a meeting. Therefore, Derek came right from work and took over so I could make it my meeting. While I was home with Payton in the afternoon, she was outside playing in her fort and she got stung by a wasp right on her finger. She was sticking her hand in her fort mailbox and it got her. This is the first time she has ever been stung. She is not allergic; however, it did swell up a bit and made her entire hand red. Poor baby kept saying it really hurts.
Also, my Mom is feeling better and it appears to be a true 24 hour bug. I am just crossing my fingers that it stays far away from our house.

So many things I can relate to in this post. . . dads are great when they keep the kid(s) and are wonderful playmates but WHY can't dirty clothes go in the hamper and the plates IN the dishwasher? Props to Derek for at least moving it off the table. M's would've still been sitting there. :)
And the whole "show ready" of a house . . . yeah, we met with a realtor today. Thankfully she said we don't need to do much to get it ready but "clean out" some things. But that takes time, and energy, and a storage unit. Sigh. She seemed optimistic about it selling though so we've got some serious thinking to do soon.
