I know that I am. I actually love watching football. I am not a fanatic about football, but I do love to watch it. I guess it goes along with the whole changing of the seasons. Since I love all things fall, that also means I love football. I love wearing sweats and sitting on the couch watching college or pro football while sipping a cold beer. For some reason I was compelled to purchase some pumpkin ale this weekend. I haven't tried it yet, but I thought why not.
The other reason I love football is because my husband is a true fanatic about it. Now this isn't always a good thing, but the good outweighs the bad. Mainly, it keeps him out of my hair during the weekends. It also provides for good family time together because we will both watch it together. We have also gotten Payton to realize that she is a Dallas Cowboys fan. I once teased Derek that I was going to teach Payton to say Go Eagles. In all seriousness he looked at me and said in no uncertain terms does he even want me to mention the Eagles to Payton. Payton has learned what teasing is and she will know to tease Dad about the Eagles. He didn't even want her to joke about it. Like I said, he is a fanatic about the Cowboys.
In other news, I was not able to put out my fall decor this weekend. I did get a ton of stuff done however. I only had one major misstep with the whole cleaning crap out. On Friday I took off work so I could clean out Payton's stuff while she was at school. We had about four boxes of stuff to donate to Goodwill. We loaded everything up and dropped it off on the way to pick up Payton. Grandpat was there to help my purge all of our stuff over the weekend. However, when we arrived back home we (and Payton) noticed that one of the boxes didn't make it into the car. So as you can imagine there were 20 questions as to why her toys were in a box. Oh boy!!! We did manage the next day to get the box to the car unnoticed by Payton, but it was still pretty tricky to accomplish.
So while my mother and I were working our butts off this weekend this is what Derek was doing.
Don't ask me why they decided to add the facial hair. Apparently, there is this huge bike race known as the Tour de Fat. You can read in more detail about on my friend's blog, Our Wondering Life, on the side of my blog.
So basically, I was hauling, lifting, throwing, decluttering, and working my butt of while my husband was dressed as a 1980's band member drinking beer in beautiful Colorado over the weekend. Life can be so unfair. Although, I will admit that I am so much happier now that our house is cleaned out and organized. I give it six months before it is a total wreck again.
