Hello all. Well, we (me, Payton, Cooper, Aunt Stephanie and Grandpat) just returned from the longest vacation ever. I will try to post throughout the week of the actual trip, but I will start by a recap of events:
1. We were flying out on June 14th (Thursday) for three days in New York and five days on the cruise;
2. Found out on the Monday before that I was supposed to be in trial;
3. Filed a Motion for Continuance (and cried in front of the Judge) and the continuance was granted on Wednesday (one day before I was suppose to leave) to sometime in the fall.
4. Arrived in New York on Thursday and stayed until Sunday morning--walked the Brooklyn Bridge (carrying Payton while wearing flip flops), pedi cab around central park, bus tour, boat tour, saw Mary Poppins, subway, cabs, hot dogs, and lovely weather.
5. Board the ship on Sunday through Friday --spa treatments, great food, COLD, saw Canada, purchased pure maple syrup, had a tea party with Alice, saw all the characters and princesses, lots of pictures, mickey mouse ice cream, and fun time had by all.
6. Friday boarding the plane to come home. Flight is at 2:50 p.m.. Get on the plane at 3:00 p.m. and wait on the tarmac for 3 hours before returning to the gate--electrical fire at the radar tower (entire northeast coast shut down)
7. Can't fly home until Sunday (have to stop in St. Louise) for a thirty minute layover.
8. New York round two--stay in the Waldorf-Astoria, (long story, but Dad is a Hilton Reward Member so he calls and gets the safest hotel in NYC with his points) arrive at the nicest hotel in NYC wearing a mickey mouse sweat outfit (supposed to be on a plane flying home), Natural Museum of Science, walk central park, see the movie Brave.
9. Sunday--wake up at 4:00 (NYC Time) to get to airport two hours early. Get on plane in NYC to go to St. Louise to board plane for Dallas. We only have a 30 minute window to catch the Dallas plane in St. Louise. While on the plane, aircraft maintenance arrives. We are going to be delayed for twenty minutes. Tears. Arrive in St. Louise and run to gate. Get on plane just in time. Finally arrive home on Sunday afternoon.
I think I have hit the high points. I will go into more detail later. I am just so glad to be home.
