If I Won The Lottery

there would be so much I would want to do. Of course there would be college/trust funds for the little one and taking care of our families and charitable endeavors; however, this is my "to do" list if we had a huge pot of money sitting around. I guess if we really did hit the jackpot I would get a new house and have it professionally decorated, but this is my dream for now with our current house.

I have had sort of a decorating itch lately. I think it is because I have gotten permission (cough, cough) to do the junk room. Also, because we really do have every room (with the exception of that room) fully finished in a style I like for the most part, I am now starting to dream of all the little accents and accessories I want to go with it.

Room Number 1..... The Study:

Derek's office is rocking an old desk that I got from Target years ago. It is functional and looks okay. There is no need for new furniture at this point. I am having a hard time separating wants vs. needs. This is clearly a want. Also, my mom (who is a furniture addict) is giving us this piece from pottery barn to put in there. She currently redecorated a room and this piece is no longer needed.

It is great because it is mannish, but also really small. It is called a "club chair."
So what I would really like to do with my huge pot of imaginary money is to purchase a new desk, chair for the desk, and other things to turn it into this:

Minus the pink accessories. As you can see this is from one of HGTV Dream Home........so I am pretty sure this look would not be cheap.

Room Number 2:

Playroom/landing upstairs. Our playroom area has one wall that is a build-in book case. It currently houses Payton's toys. Although I purchased cute little (and way overpriced) containers from pottery barn kids to try to contain the explosion of toys, it still looks like an unorganized mess. Therefore, I thought, wouldn't it be great to have roman shades that I can put on the book case that we can just pull down to hide the stuff on the shelves? Yes it would......... however, do you know how much those puppies would cost to make? Apparently, the measurements of the bookcase mean I can't purchase any already made. Although it would cost a ton, in my dream world this is the fabric I would use.....

Master Bedroom:

All that we really need in this one is curtains. However, curtains are not free. However, I will probably have to bit the bullet on this one and make that our next (after junk room) expenditure for house decorating because it is falling more in the need section. I would also like to get another piece of furniture to put the TV on so it is not on top of the chest of drawers and tucked away in the corner. Something like this perhaps?

It is only $700.00 excluding taxes, shipping and delivering charges. Oh, isn't it fun to dream?

The Backyard:

We have a covered patio and in the next month my mom is giving us her "old" patios furniture. She has updated her backyard and this "old" furniture is about 10 years old and cost more than we would ever pay for furniture. However, in my dream world this is what I would want:

I know the purple is a little girlish, but doesn't it look relaxing???? I would also love to have this lighting above outside:

Of course it would be matching. This would only require an electrician to come out and add about five more outlets on the patio ceiling. I am sure that would cost an arm and a leg. Also, the lights are like $200 EACH. I would also like to have a fire pit, and I guess while I am in dreamland, a pool.

Okay back to reality.................

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. The weather here is going to be great. Unfortunately, I have to do things like get my oil changed, laundry, and other fun domesticated stuff.

And do you have all of these pictures "pinned" to your "When I win the lottery" or "Dream House" board? :)

I love the purple for the patio but someone else would never go for it!

No, I don't have them pinned. I am not that hooked on pinterest. I do pin a couple of ideas, but they are actually things I could afford or ideas for crafts (b/c I am so crafty). No, this is just killing time at work with google. I don't think Derek would go for the purple, but I love it.

Wait... didn't you just build a brand-new beautiful house?! :)

You have some great ideas! WHEN I win the lottery, I'll pay you well to come decorate my new house! ;)
