Christmas Recap & Government Betrayal

Christmas was wonderful. Payton started to get into it for the most part. However, at one point before Christmas Derek and I were a little worried because she basically could careless about Christmas. She would basically tell Santa off to use Derek's words. However, on Christmas Eve she really started to get excited. On Christmas morning she woke up and we all went downstairs. She first saw the cookies that Santa had eaten. Then I told her to look under the tree to see if Santa left her anything. The first thing she saw was this:

Her big gift from Santa. Her exact words, "Oh no, Santa opened my presents!" I guess she thought Santa came in the middle of the night and opened the presents under the tree. However we pointed out that Santa had actually left more presents. This is what all Santa brought her.

A Mr. Potato Head.

Of course, he can't be by himself so there was a Mrs. Potato Head.

Lots of board games:

This one is her favorite because of the princess pieces. However, she is a little bored at actually playing the game. About two minutes into playing she starts making her own game up with the pieces and board.

Santa also left this in her stocking along with a ball and ring pops. The ring pops were the biggest hit. She wanted to know how Santa could possibly know she loved ring pops.

Derek and I got her some Princess Barbies, a miniature enchanted castle from Beauty & The Beast, pjs and books.

My parents got her this:

She loved it. However, her driving skills need a little improvement.

Another big hit was part of her Christmas presents from Granny and Pops.

It is the Bitty Baby from American Girl along with the crib.

She loved it. She also got the highchair. She named her baby Annie, and she must feed her and put her to bed every night.

Unfortunately, Mema was not able to make it to Payton's birthday or for Christmas. However, Mema is shipping all her presents to Payton. Therefore, there will be more gifts to open. On a side note, Payton got a fairy Barbie for birthday. She mentioned that she needed a Prince Charming. I told Mema this, and sure enough, she already shipped us a Ken doll to play the part of Prince Charming. I always had my questions regarding Ken's sexuality; however, this confirmed it.

This is Ken Fashionistas. He has highlights!!!!! Derek is so funny because Payton was playing with Ken and one of her Princess Barbies and Derek kept saying that they were brother and sister. He doesn't want Payton to get any ideas regarding boyfriends at such a young age.

On another note, on Christmas Eve, Payton and I were tracking Santa on NORAD on my IPad. It brought back memories of when I was little. Minus the IPad. You see, even at a young age of 5 or 6 I had my doubts about Santa. No one told me anything. It just didn't make sense and the logistics didn't add up in my mind. However, when we were little we would always go to my grandparents on Christmas Eve and then drive home. It was about a 2.5 hour drive back home. On the way home, we would listen to the radio and my dad would always find NORAD on the radio. We would listen as the radar would track Santa. It was then that I remember thinking that if a government agency would spend the time and money to track Santa then he has to be real. Surely, the US government would not be part of any hi jinks regarding a government radar. Therefore, because of NORAD I threw all my little logic out the window and believed. Sigh............ the minds of the young when it comes to the government.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
