Payton also preformed aka cried the whole time in her first Christmas program at school. We have video and pictures of it. It was pretty funny to watch. We had Payton's birthday the Saturday before Christmas at Gymboree play place. It was great. However, I did not take one single picture because I was running around trying to just enjoy the moment. However, have no fear. Granny just informed me there is a disc coming my way with 250 pictures on it from the Birthday/ Christmas weekend. On Sunday we had Christmas breakfast at our house to celebrate Christmas with Derek's family before they headed back to West Texas.
I will give you a brief run down of the bigger toy items that are currently occupying our home. Payton is really into arts and crafts (coloring and stickers). Therefore, she received a play-doh set from Mema like this one.

Along with a beautiful child's art apron with her name on it.
She also received this from Granny and Pops.

Derek put this together one afternoon. I am not sure what time he started, but I do know that at one point he came down and said he needed a drink (an alcoholic drink) and then returned upstairs for another hour.
I put this birthday present together from Granny and Pops, and if I say so myself, I think I got the better toy to put together.

Then Mommy and Daddy bought this for Payton for her Birthday and she loves it. I can't tell you the countless times we have had to go hiding with her in her tent.

Payton also loved her gifts from Santa. It was so cute. Christmas morning we woke up and Derek went by the tree with the video recorder to record her reaction. You can hear me telling Payton, "I wonder what Santa brought you?" Payton then started to cry and say, "Santa is not going to get me?" Apparently, she thought Santa was still in the house. However, once she saw this under the tree she went bananas.

I should also mention we have Side Table Drawer as well.
We also got Payton lots of books and sock puppets. We had to replace this book because our dog, Daisy, took an interest in it and ate it.

Santa also brought her this, which she loved.

Before I had a daughter, I was one of those mothers that would never dream of buying my child such a gift as a play vacuum cleaner. However, I had a child and all the "I nevers" went out the window. The simple fact of the matter is, she loved playing with the one at the store, and the only time I can get her to pick up her toys with any kind of speed is when I tell her I have to vacuum. What can I say, she loves the vacuum cleaner. Also, I think of it as a good way to introduce her to the world of chores when she is older.
After opening presents at our house, we headed over to my parents where they bought Payton some Ugg boots and this lovely addition to go with her kitchen upstairs.

I have no idea how or where we are going to store all this stuff. I talked my mom into keeping the table and chairs at her house, and I also happened to drop the grill off at her house as well. We took out a side table in Payton's room and put it in the garage; therefore, her easel is now where the table was. All the other toys, with the exception of the Thinking Chair and tent, fit nicely under the hall staircase. This was only possible because my mom agreed to take all the Christmas stuff to her house to store so we could have a place to house Payton's toys when our house goes back on the market.
Payton also went to the doctor on Monday for her well child exam. At the fine age of two Payton weighs 20 lbs 10 oz and is in the 2% for weight. She has actually lost 8 oz from her 18 month check-up, but the doctor is not worried. See, Payton had her first stomach virus on Sunday night. I thought my child has had an upset stomach in the past, but I was wrong. I won't go into details or tell you how many diapers we went through, but it wasn't pretty. I knew something was wrong when she woke up Sunday from her nap and didn't want a snack. Despite my child's small frame, girlfriend can eat. I mean she eats 2 yogurts for breakfast, or a yogurt and an adult cereal bar, and for lunch an entire grilled cheese and the banana or chicken fingers (6 piece from Chick-fa-la) and the fruit. Then she may have another yogurt for snack or jello. She always has a snack, and then she wants dinner with dessert. Then after dinner and dessert she may have cookie before going to bed. See my kid can eat.
However, she hasn't really had an appetite since Sunday at lunch. Therefore, the doctor said the virus was to blame for her apparent weight loss and that my child is genetically petite. She is however in the 71% for her head and 50% for height.
I still can't believe this year is almost over. I don't really make New Year's resolutions because they are pointless. However, I do have some goals that I am going to set for myself. I am going to try to blog more often. I am going to try not to get upset over small things. I am going to try to be a better daughter, mother and wife. I am also going to try to focus more on myself. I seem to be so focused on Payton (which is a good thing) and working and housework that I forget to take time out for myself. I am also going to get Christmas cards out next year. So if you didn't get one from us, don't worry, no one did.
I hope everyone has a happy and safe New Year's and I'll see you next year.

So, you're basically what you are saying is we need to go ahead and start looking for a bigger house because of all the stuff M will collect in the next year??? Most of her gifts this year were small. Thank goodness! But after seeing this and Ashley's post, man, I need to rent a storage unit now!
