Dinner & A Show

I remember my life bc (before child), and before Miss Payton graced my world, dinner and a show had a completely different meaning. Dinner and a show meant going out to eat at a nice place, sans the kids menu with colors, and then catching the latest flick. We have not even attempted (other than the Disney Cruise) to take little Miss Thang to a movie.

Now that Payton has arrived, I have a new definition of dinner and a show. Last night as Payton was in her high chair eating dinner, she wanted me to sing the "happy song." You, know, "If you happy and you know it clap your hands...." Sing with me, now. I know you know the words.

Trying my best to entertain my child and to actually get her to finish her dinner, I explained I would only sing the Happy Song if she took a bite. Well, it worked. She said, "agh gain." Therefore, I told her to take another bite. After I exhausted all the happy things to do, we moved onto the Ho-key Poo-key. So as my child is sitting in her high chair taking a bite of her food, Mommy is dancing around doing the ho-key poo-key. She caught on pretty quickly, and as soon as the song ended she would shove another bite in her mouth and look at me like please continue.

As I am dancing around trying to think of different body parts to "put in" I started to think.............. wow, how my life has changed, and if anyone was recording this they would have a good laugh. I have to say Payton did finish eating her dinner and Mommy got a nice little work-out while she was eating. However, I really hope this doesn't become an evening ritual because Mommy is going to have think of more songs and get into better shape.
